John 2:2-10

Introduction:

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.

Key Points:

- Jesus is present at the party; He may be in the background but He is always there.

- God will allow circumstances to become chaotic to get our attention and rely on Him soley.

- The wine of the world will run out. When the party has no more wine, there is no more fun. However, the wine of the Lord never runs dry. There is everlasting and abounding joy.

- Wine within the Bible represents sustainable joy.

- There is no sustainable joy when you walk away from God and leave Him out of the equation. We are made strong through Him only.

- The 6 pots represent denominations within the church. Religion will never fulfill what the presence of God can do. Relationship brings fruition.

- With a dying world, the church needs to offer real and sustainable wine that is only through the power of the Holy Spirit.

- Notice, Jesus gave the wine to the Govenor; a person who seems to have it all.

- The Holy Spirit is our comforter and will never run out of our lives.

- How do we explain water turning into wine?

- How do we explain the power of the Holy Spirit?
